Dwayne K. Greene on Tuesday was arraigned on a murder charge in the Oct. 26 slaying of a Savannah woman at her home.
Greene, 36, is charged with slaying Laura Dowdy, 48, who was found shot to death in her home in the 800 block of West 38th Street.
Chatham County Recorder’s Court Judge Pro Tem Willie Yancey II scheduled a preliminary hearing for Greene, 36, for Nov. 15.
Greene on Monday was arraigned on murder and aggravated assault charges in the Oct. 23 slaying of Freddie Jackson, 33, and wounding of Kendra Hayes, 25. Greene is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 15 in that case.
Savannah-Chatham police said Greene shot Jackson and Hayes about 5 p.m. Oct. 23 near the intersection of Bulloch and West 38th streets. Both victims were taken to Memorial University Medical Center where Jackson died that evening.
Dowdy’s slaying was very close to where Jackson and Hayes were found shot outside their apartment last week.
Greene will remain in the Chatham County jail without bond pending his hearings. Only a Superior Court judge can set bonds in murder cases.
