The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a burglary suspect who fled from a traffic stop on Wednesday night.

The driver, Jerry Turner, 27, of Bloomingdale, took off on foot, leaving two small children and their mother in the vehicle when a deputy stopped the vehicle on Midland Road near Ga. 17 about 10 p.m.

Turner had outstanding warrants for burglary and parole violation and is now also charged with fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. Turner has an extensive criminal history, said David Ehsanipoor, sheriff’s office spokesman.

Anyone with information on Turner's location is asked to contact the Effingham County Sheriff's Office at 912-754-3449.
