KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after the pilot of a small plane spotted a break in traffic and landed the aircraft on Interstate 575 outside Atlanta.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/Slx7rS) that the plane was on final approach to McCollum Field near Kennesaw Sunday afternoon. Cobb County police say the plane lost power, and the pilot decided to land in the southbound lanes of the interstate.

Cobb police spokesman Michael Bowman says the three men were on board had flown to Georgia from Nashville.

Bowman said the plane had been cleared for final approach and landing when the pilot reported that he had lost hydraulics. He said the pilot saw a break in the traffic and landed the plane on the interstate. No one was hurt.
