A convicted felon wanted on robbery charges has been arrested.
Travis Brown, 25, of Clyo, was arrested about 9 p.m. Monday at Willowpeg Apartments after the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office received a tip on his location.
Brown was sought after being named as a suspect in a Friday night robbery at the Red Gate Mobile Home Park in Rincon, said David Ehsanipoor, sheriff’s office spokesman.
The sheriff’s office and the Rincon Police Department issued a request for the public’s help in locating Brown earlier Monday.
Also arrested with Brown was an unidentified woman, Ehsanipoor said. She has been charged with obstruction and knowingly hiding a wanted criminal.
Brown has been charged with robbery and obstruction of a law enforcement officer stemming from the Red Gate incident.
Brown had been out on bond and awaiting trial on two different burglaries in Effingham County, including a commercial burglary where firearms were taken.
Brown is a convicted felon with an extensive criminal history, Ehsanipoor said.
