Fort Pulaski Commemorates Veterans Day
Nov.10-12. Fort Pulaski. To commemorate Veterans Day, the National Park Service will waive all entrance fees throughout Veterans Day weekend. Savannah’s national park – Fort Pulaski National Monument will be fee free from Saturday, Nov.10 to Monday, Nov.12. A special military salute to veterans will be offered at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. “The World of a Slave”
7 p.m. Nov. 12. Davenport House Museum. Martha Katz-Hyman, co-editor of “World of a Slave: Encyclopedia of the Material Life of Slaves in the United States” will speak on her work Nov. 12. The program is free but reservations are required. For more information, call 912-236-8097.

Chatham Retired Educators meeting
10:30 a.m. Nov. 12. Carey Hilliards, Abercorn Extension. The Chatham Retired Educators Association will hold their next meeting at Carey Hilliards Nov. 12. The price for lunch is $16.

Maj. Gen. Jeffrey E. Phillips to speak at AASU
6 p.m. Nov. 12. Armstrong Center, 13040 Abercorn St. Armstrong Atlantic State University is proud to announce a special lecture from Army Reserve Maj. Gen. Jeffrey E. Phillips, assistant deputy chief of staff, G-1, on the Army staff; and former deputy commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Stewart in Hinesville, Ga. On Monday, Nov. 12 Phillips will deliver his talk, “The Imperative of Leadership,” at the Armstrong Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Operation Sweaters for Veterans
Nov. 1-Nov. 12. Bonaventure Funeral Home, 2520 Bonaventure Road. On Nov. 12 Americans throughout the world will commemorate Veterans Day, a day set aside to thank our nation’s veterans for service given and sacrifices made to protect the freedoms of our great nation. Bonaventure Funeral Home in conjunction with over 1000 Veterans & Family Memorial Care Providers nationwide is sponsoring their annual VFMC Operation Sweaters for Veterans initiative.
Beginning Nov. 1 thru Veterans Day, Nov. 12 Bonaventure Funeral Home is collecting new or gently used sweaters and gloves to be delivered to local VA hospitals, VA homes and veterans service organizations.

Chatham County Farm Bureau meeting
6 p.m. Nov. 12. 1102 Shannon Ave. Chatham County Farm Bureau is holding their Annual Board Meeting on Monday, Nov.12. It will be held at the office on Shannon Avenue. All Members are welcome to attend.
