One person was transported to a local hospital Saturday afternoon following a shooting on Savannah’s southside.
Police responded to the Krystal near the intersection of Television Circle and Abercorn Street about 4:30 p.m. after a person went to the restaurant for help, said Gena Bilbo, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman. Police do not believe the person was shot at Krystal, Bilbo said. The wound does not appear to be life-threatening.
Savannah-Chatham police were continuing to investigate Saturday evening.
President Street Parker’s robbed
Savannah-Chatham police are asking the public’s assistance in identifying an armed robber who held up a Parker’s convenience store at East President Street and Beech Street just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning.
No one was hurt in the incident, but the robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and a single pack of Newport Light cigarettes.
