Celebrated actors Richard Dreyfuss and Danny Glover are among the cast of a new movie that will begin filming soon in Savannah.
"Killing Winston Jones," directed by Joel David Moore -- who plays Joey Ramone in rock biopic "CBGB," which filmed in Savannah this summer -- will also star Danny Masterson and Bill Heder, according to Variety.com. The Savannah Morning News'Bill Dawers reports that filming in Savannah will begin Monday, and the Savannah Film Office says local filming is expected to run into December.
Variety reports that the plot follows a sixth-grade English teacher (Masterson) on a mission to get the newly constructed junior high gymnasium named after his father (Dreyfuss) despite the fact that the person so memorialized must be dead -- leading to a bitter contest over the naming rights with his old rival (Glover).
The Film Office reports that "Killing Winston Jones" is looking for extras, with a variety of openings listed here.
Dreyfuss won an Academy Award in 1977 for "The Goodbye Girl." Glover is best known for his roles in "The Color Purple" and the "Lethal Weapon" series.
