LITHONIA, Ga. (AP) — The wife of a shoplifting suspect who died during a confrontation with store employees outside a suburban Atlanta Walmart says she thinks they used too more force to subdue him.

Fatimah Calloway tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/QHnxo8) that a DVD player at the center of the case wasn't worth her husband's life.

Detectives are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of Vidal Calloway's death.

DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said Monday police hadn't decided whether to file charges.

According to a police report, a man was caught shoplifting two DVD players from the Lithonia store Sunday. Police say three workers caught him outside the store. The police report says a security guard put the man in a choke hold and told him to tap if he couldn't breathe.
