Empty Stocking: Murder victim's children seek help

Two years ago, Sarah buried her 26-year-old daughter.

The younger woman was shot and killed in an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, who’s serving time for the crime.

The murder crushed Sarah emotionally. But she had to recover quickly.

Her daughter had three children who suddenly were without their mother. Sarah stepped in to give them the love and support they needed more than ever.

Providing for the three grandchildren has been a financial struggle.

Sarah has two children of her own who are still at home. While they are older, they still aren’t able to support themselves.

Sarah does her best with what she has. And while it’s not much, it’s enough to survive — but not enough to provide gifts for her grandkids.

Sarah would like to see them smile on Christmas morning.

But without the generosity of others, that’s not going to happen.

The Empty Stocking Fund is designed to help needy families in our area who are struggling during the holiday season. Contributions will be acknowledged in the manner requested by donors.
