Georgia Tech is heading back to the Sun Bowl for the second straight year and will face underachieving Southern California.
The Yellow Jackets, who got a waiver from the NCAA to play in the postseason despite having a 6-7 record following a loss in the ACC championship game, will play in a bowl game for the 16th straight season. That's the fourth-longest streak in the nation.
USC (7-5), which was ranked No. 1 to start the season, hasn't faced Georgia Tech since 1973. The Trojans have won two of the three previous meetings.
The Sun Bowl will be played Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas.
