A Savannah man has pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor between 1998 and 2003.
Robert A. Flaesch, 46, admitted to using a child to produce videos of child pornography, U.S. Atty. Edward Tarver said Tuesday.
In his plea before U.S. District Judge William T. Moore Jr. last week, evidence showed Flaesch was involved in a relationship with a mother of a minor child, including often living with them in locations including Tybee Island and Pooler.
During that time, he hid a video camera in the residences and filmed the child in various states of undress.
He also crept into the sleeping child’s room and filmed himself engaging in sexual conduct with the child, and in 2011Garden City police were provided with a tape of the videos.
FBI agents arrested Flaesch this year in Detroit, while he was returning from a trip to the Philippines.
Flaesch will remain in the custody of U.S. Marshal officials pending sentencing which will be scheduled after completion of a pre-sentencing report by probation officials.
