A 19-year-old Savannah man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after local drug agents learned he was making methamphetamine in Bloomingdale.
The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team charged Joshua McNelly with manufacturing methamphetamine for his role in an active meth lab found at a residence on Pine Barren Road, said Gene Harley, CNT spokesman.
Earlier in the day, undercover CNT agents were informed of the operation and identified three people potentially involved.
Agents seized the active lab during a search of the home and discovered evidence that a person had been injured from an explosion during a previous meth cook, Harley said.
He added that CNT agents and a specially trained environmental company seized the lab and deemed the area safe after the operation.
