Bethesda Academy to host Flag Ceremony
10 a.m. Dec. 7. Burroughs Hall at Bethesda Academy, 9520 Ferguson Ave. Members of the Veterans Council and Boy Scouts from Bethesda Academy will retire a tattered American flag in front of Burroughs Hall and present the school with a new flag. The event will take place on Pearl Harbor Day and will serve a special tribute to U.S. military veterans. The flag ceremony is free and open to the public.

“Christmas with a Capital ‘C’”
7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, through Dec. 16. Savannah Christian Church, 55 Al Henderson Blvd. “Christmas with a Capital ‘C’” is a Christmas musical being presented now through Dec. 16 by the Savannah Christian Church drama ministry. The production centers around the people in a fictional town called Trapper Falls, where Christmas has long been rich in common traditions until an attorney returns home and demands that the nativity scene and the very word “Christmas” be banished. Tickets are $5 each, with a $20 maximum per family, and are available at the SCC’s The Source bookstore and at the door. For more information, go to www.SavannahChristian.com.

Mighty Eighth Hosts Toy, Food Drive
The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum is hosting a toy and food drive this holiday season to benefit local families in need. All donations can be brought to the museum seven days per week during business hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Food donations will benefit America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Second Harvest is currently in need of non-perishable food items that are unopened and labeled. Donated food must be received no later than Dec. 21.
Toy donations should be new and unwrapped. All collected toys will be donated to local military families, as well as Operation Homefront Georgia, a nonprofit which provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. S.P.A.C.E. Session I Visual Arts Classes and Workshops Now Registering
S.P.A.C.E. studios, at 9 West Henry St. City of Savannah’s Department of Cultural Affairs is now registering students for Session I classes and workshops. Day and evening sessions are offered for children, teens, and adults in all skill levels. Sessions began Jan. 7 and run through Feb.15. Three week and six week classes are available, as well as weekend workshops. Visual arts sessions include ceramics, metals, glass, fibers, jewelry, painting and drawing. Class fees include instruction, use of studio space, use of equipment and all materials and tools required. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Credit cards are accepted. ‘What’s the Fuss About’
7 p.m. Dec. 7. Radiant Life, 5619 Skidaway Road. “What’s the Fuss About,” a family musical drama, will be performed at Radiant Life Church on Dec. 7 and 9. The show is free and suitable for all ages. The show will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9.

Winter Gala and Silent Auction
7-10 p.m. Dec. 7. Vic’s on The River. The Zoe Foundation’s Winter Gala and Silent Auction will take place from 7-10 p.m. Dec. 7 at Vic’s on The River and will feature music from The Equinox Quintet featuring Jeremy Davis and silent auction items from some of Savannah’s leading businesses. Art Show Gala and Silent & Live Auction
6-9:30 p.m. Dec. 7. The Charles Morris Center, 10 E. Broad St. Savannah Association for the Blind Inc. will host an Art Show Gala and Silent & Live Auction on Dec. 7 at the Charles Morris Center. Port Wentworth Annual Tree Lighting
6:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Downtown Port Wentworth at City Hall. Port Wentworth will host the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony Dec. 7. There will be food, fun and festivities directly following the ceremony at P.B Edwards Jr. Gymnasium. Come and see the new reveal of the gymnasium renovations! ‘Salome’ Parlor Play
8 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8; 3 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9. Muse Arts Warehouse, 703D Louisville Road. The Biblical story of the seductive Salome is one of the most enduring in history; the Collective Face Theatre Ensemble, Savannah’s premiere theater company, presents an intimate adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic drama “Salome” at Muse Arts Warehouse. First Friday for Folk Music
7:30-10 p.m. Dec. 7. Stewart Hall, First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave. The next scheduled First Friday for Folk Music will be Dec. 7 at Stewart Hall, First Presbyterian Church. It is a smoke-free, alcohol-free and family-friendly evening of music in a coffeehouse setting. This month’s show features “V The Gypsy Cowbelle” and “Alice and Albert Williams.” There is a suggested donation of $2 per person.

‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens
8 p.m. Dec. 7. All Walks of Life and The City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs present “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens and directed by Jonathan Johnson. The show will be performed at 8 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8, with a matinee show at 3 p.m. Dec. 9. Tickets are $12 for adults and children. Handel’s Messiah Sing Along
7 p.m. Dec. 7. Butler Memorial Presbyterian Church, 603 West Victory Drive. Your presence will be greatly appreciated Dec. 7 for the annual Messiah Sing Along. Admission is free, and a silent offering will be taken. Those planning to sing along from the audience should arrive by 6:45 p.m. and bring a personal copy of the Messiah. I Cantori Christmas Concert
7:30 p.m. Dec. 7. St. Peters Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island. This year’s program is unique, even for I Cantori. The chamber choir under the direction of founder and conductor Dr. Robert Harris, will present six different approaches to the traditional text, “Hodie Christus natus est” – Christ Is Born Today. The second half of the concert will feature more familiar carols. An additional concert will be performed Dec. 10 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Tickets are available at the door for both venues – adults $15 and seniors, military and students $10.
