A man remains in critical condition this afternoon after he was shot late this morning.
Savannah-Chatham police responded to the report of a shooting near Barnard and 53rd streets about 11 a.m. where they found a man suffering from life-threatening wounds, said Gena Bilbo, police spokeswoman.
The man, whose identity was not released, was rushed to Memorial University Medical Center.
Bilbo said several people in the area have been interviewed and officers are working to piece together what led to the shooting.
No other information was immediately available about the incident.
