Savannah Children’s Choir presents “Holiday Radio Hour”
4 p.m. Dec. 9. Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 1008 E. Henry St. The SCC will present its annual holiday concert, “Holiday Radio Hour” on Dec. 9 at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church. Using the framework of an old-time radio show, the concert features the Primary, Preparatory and Premier choirs of the Savannah Children’s Choir, and songs from around the world and throughout time, and even includes participation from the audience. “Christmas with a Capital ‘C’”
7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, through Dec. 16. Savannah Christian Church, 55 Al Henderson Blvd. “Christmas with a Capital ‘C’” is a Christmas musical being presented now through Dec. 16 by the Savannah Christian Church drama ministry. The production centers around the people in a fictional town called Trapper Falls, where Christmas has long been rich in common traditions until an attorney returns home and demands that the nativity scene and the very word “Christmas” be banished. Christmas open house
12-3 p.m. Dec. 9. The Cottage Shop, 2422 Abercorn St. The Cottage Shop will hold a Christmas open house Dec. 9 from 12-3 p.m.
Mighty Eighth Hosts Toy, Food Drive
The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum is hosting a toy and food drive this holiday season to benefit local families in need. All donations can be brought to the museum seven days per week during business hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Food donations will benefit America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Second Harvest is currently in need of non-perishable food items that are unopened and labeled. Donated food must be received no later than Dec. 21.
Toy donations should be new and unwrapped. All collected toys will be donated to local military families, as well as Operation Homefront Georgia, a nonprofit which provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. Foodies for a Cause
1-3 p.m. Dec. 9. On Dec. 9, the Humane Society for Greater Savannah will present “Foodies Pair Up for Pets.” Savannah’s own Zunzi’s will pair up with Food Network star Michele Ragussis to raise money for Humane Society pets. With the purchase of a $10 ticket, you can meet the star, get an autograph (perhaps with a photo op), learn some cooking tricks of the trade and partake of lots of fabulous food. Alcohol will not be provided, but you can bring your own brown bag to pair up with the incredible treats. Bonaventure Cemetery tours
2 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m. Dec. 9. Bonaventure Cemetery. Bonaventure Historical Society conducts tours of Bonaventure Cemetery on the second Sunday of each month. Tours begin at 2 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. Each tour lasts about an hour and there is no charge, but donations are welcome. Savannah to go Colorblind
3 p.m. Dec. 9. Forsyth Park. Commissioned To Love Outreach Ministries and Discipleship Centers Inc. is hosting the “Colorblind March” on Dec. 9 at Forsyth Park. The march will start at Forsyth Park, moving toward City Hall on Bull Street. It will continue from City Hall back to Forsyth Park. ‘Salome’ Parlor Play
