DAHLONEGA, Ga. (AP) — Four rare, white Siberian Tiger cubs are marking their first days of life at a wildlife preserve in the northeast Georgia mountains.
Staff members at the Chestatee Wildlife Preserve in Dahlonega say it's unusual for a mother to give birth to four cubs. The Times of Gainesville reports (http://bit.ly/MqjvZ7) that the tigers typically have two or three cubs at once.
C.W. Wathen, founder and general manager of the preserve, said he was surprised to turn on a camera in the mother's den Thursday night and see the four tiny cubs. Authorities say the cubs might grow to 700 to 800 pounds.
The wildlife preserve is about 60 northeast of Atlanta.
