Violent Crimes detectives from the Savannah-Chatham police Department are sorting out the details of a shooting that left a 20-year-old woman in critical condition during a drug deal Monday night, said Julian Miller, police spokesman.
The victim was transported to Memorial University Medical Center after residents on the 800 block of Maupus Street heard a shot and found her in the roadway about 9:30 p.m.
Residents on Maupus told police they heard the shot and a car speed away.
Metro detectives are continuing to investigate.
