A 31-year-old Savannah parolee was arrested Friday after drugs and weapons were found in his home when his parole officer came by for a compliance check.
Officers with the Savannah-Chatham police’s Savannah Impact Program helped investigate after the parole officer reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence in 2000 block of Florida Avenue, said Julian Miller, police spokesman.
Inside, officers found Moses Marvin Keith Mike, the parolee, with a significant amount of marijuana, including some packaged for sale, firearms and cash hidden in cookie jars and food containers, Miller said.
Mike — who was released from prison in January 2009 after serving two years for selling cocaine in Chatham County, according to Georgia Corrections Department documents — was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and parole violation.
