No explosive devises were found in the Rincon Walmart following a bomb threat phoned in to 911 about 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
The crowded store was evacuated and the explosive detection unit from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office was called in to search.
Rincon Police Chief Phillip Scholl said nothing out of the ordinary was found.
“Every effort was made to ensure the safety of the customers and employees of Walmart,” he said.
David Ehsanipoor, sheriff’s office spokesman said the store will not reopen this evening.
