Savannah-Chatham Police charged a 19-year-old with reckless conduct after they say she fired a pistol in the air at Forsyth Park Monday afternoon.
Cierra Denise Mims was arrested after the about 2 p.m. incident, in which she fired while two women were fighting in the middle of a large crowd in the park, said Julian Miller, police spokesman.
Witnesses advised officers, who were arrived to break up the fight, that Mims had fired the shots and they pointed out the vehicle in which Mims had stashed the weapon, Miller said.
The firearm was found in that car after the owner agreed to allow officers to search the it, Miller said.
No injuries were reported in the fight or the shooting.
