Savannah poetry series Seersucker Shots has just unveiled its strongest lineup yet for its first performance of 2013.

Poets Heather Christle, Christopher DeWeese and Mark Leidner will appear free 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at The Book Lady, 6 E. Liberty St.

Christle, who teaches at Sarah Lawrence College, won last year's Believer Poetry Award for her collection "The Trees The Trees" from Octopus Books.

Christle's other acclaimed volumes include "The Difficult Farm," also from Octopus, and "What Is Amazing" (Wesleyan). From 2009 to 2011, Christle was the Poetry Writing Fellow at Emory University in Atlanta, home to current U.S. Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey.

DeWeese, who lives in Western Massachusetts, is the author of the debut collection "The Black Forest," also from Octopus.

A native of Tifton, Leidner's works include the breakout volume "Beauty Was the Case That They Gave Me," one of the best poetry books of 2011.

A cash bar will be available. For more info, click here.
