Mark your calendars for March 8 -- it's gonna be an all-out party, and everyone in Savannah is invited.
The Savannah Morning News, savannahnow.com and Savannah Magazine are proud to announce a new partnership with the Savannah Stopover Music Festival, March 7-9.
The media network and Visit Savannah will be the presenting sponsors of the free-to-the-community Concert in the Park featuring legendary indie rockers of Montreal in Forsyth Park on March 8. The Savannah Morning News and Savannah Magazine also are exclusive local media sponsors of the opening night concert at Ships of The Sea Maritime Museum.
“We’re thrilled to be a leading sponsor of Savannah Stopover,” said Stacy Jennings, marketing director at the Savannah Morning News and SavannahNow. “This festival keeps growing and bringing fresh new artists to the area. We know our music coverage is better simply because of the quality of the acts that come. We can’t wait to get out and dance with everybody at the free of Montreal concert!”
The free Concert in the Park will open with Royal Canoe from Winnipeg, Canada, in the Forsyth Park band shell. Savannah musician Lloyd “KidSyc” Harold will emcee the event.
The Stopover Festival is a “stop over” for bands traveling down I-95 en route to South by Southwest, an annual music, film, and interactive conference and festival held in Austin, TX. The festival features a wide variety of musical styles -- including indie rock, pop, dance, folk, hip hop, electronica, bluegrass and country.
