A Statesboro man on Tuesday was sentenced to life plus 684 months in federal prison for his role in the kidnapping of two Pembroke businessmen last year.
Antonio Lamont “Mont” Murray, 38, was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge B. Avant Edenfield in Statesboro for his Aug. 22 convictions on charges of conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping and use of a firearm in furtherance of a federal crime.
Co-defendant, Cecil DeWitt “Red” Nelson, 32, of Pembroke, was sentenced to life in federal prison in the same case.
Nelson pleaded guilty April 16 to a count of conspiracy to kidnap in the case.
Two Bryan County businessmen, Timothy Marshlick and William Downs were abducted from their home in separate incidents between Nov. 29, 2011, and Jan, 123. They were released after paying the ransom demands.
