A judge on Monday added more than $94,000 in attorneys fees and expenses in a $1.7 million jury award for a Savannah man injured in two-car crash here.

Chatham County State Court Chief Judge H. Gregory Fowler ruled plaintiff attorneys Bart Turner and William Otto were entitled to $94,205.41 for their representation of Steve Ragland in the litigation.

That sum was in addition to the jury award of $1.7 million on Jan. 11 after trial of Ragland’s suit against Amanda Newton.

That sum, together with interest of $148,453.52 brought the total award to almost $1.9 million.

The suit stemmed from injuries suffered by Ragland on March 22, 2009, when he driving his Chervolet pickup truck on DeRenne Avenue at Skidaway Road by a 2005 Chrysler 300 driven by the defendant, Newton.
