The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team charged a Guyton man Thursday with trafficking cocaine after they found him with about nine ounces of the narcotic.
CNT Agents began investigating Jonathan Jamall Anderson in early February after working with Savannah-Chatham police to find a smuggler said to be bringing large amounts of cocaine into the county, said Gene Harley, CNT spokesman.
Early Thursday afternoon drug agents learned Anderson was coming back to Savannah from Atlanta on a Greyhound Bus, Harley said. Agents met the suspect at a bus station where they found the cocaine, worth about $14,400, and arrested him.
Anderson was transported to the Chatham County jail where he remains after being denied bond in Chatham County Recorder’s Court.
