Filming for “The Bachelor” is over, and Sean Lowe has made his decision, but he’s not about to kiss and tell.
Ironically, Lowe’s appearance at the Southern Women’s Show on Feb. 15 is one day late for Valentine’s Day. But fans’ hearts will be aflutter when he shares behind-the-scenes secrets from the show and sets tabloid rumors straight.
“It’s quite the experience,” says Lowe about his turn as a reality show star. “I’m still not used to watching myself every Monday.”
Lowe was introduced to the show’s producers when his sister signed him up for “The Bachelorette.” He made it to the finals, but lost out in the end.
“At first, I was against it, but then I thought about it and decided to give it a try,” Lowe says. “I never thought about developing feelings for Emily on the show. She sent me packing in the final week.”
Now the shoe is on the other foot as Lowe calls the shot. “It’s harder,” he says.
“It was a lot easier being one of many guys. Being the bachelor, I feared sending girls home. I certainly don’t like breaking hearts.”
Per the producers’ directions, Lowe can’t say anything about the final outcome. “I can’t say if I’ve chosen anyone or not, but I have made my final decision,” he says.
“I think I made the best decision for me. I would say the entire journey was a pretty hard thing to do.”
Along the way, friends and family have been very supportive. “I imagine most of my guy friends are a little envious,” Lowe says.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Lowe owns a store called The Factory Girl that creates custom furniture, handbags and women’s jewelry. He swears that background doesn’t give him an inside with the ladies.
“Maybe a little bit,” Lowe says. “I wish I could say yes, but I don’t think so.”
While he has a strong fan base, Lowe doesn’t think he wants to do any more TV shows. “I don’t know if I’m comfortable with that,” he says.
“I’m not sure if any TV is in my future. I’m not seeking fame or anything like that, but if the opportunity is too good to pass up, I would take a look at it.”
At the Southern Women’s Show, Lowe is going to do a question-and-answer session. “I know a lot of people really take a great interest in the show,” he says.
“I’m going to try to answer as many questions as I can. It’s been a great experience.”
One of the side effects of the show is that Lowe is recognized pretty much wherever he goes.
“That’s something I’m still getting used to,” he says. “It’s kind of tough. I could do without that part.”
