Construction is complete on Moon River Brewing Co.'s new beer garden on Bay Street. Now all that's left is pouring the beer.
The popular Savannah brew pub will do just that March 9 when they christen their new space built by Choate Construction.
The 5,400-square-foot beer garden features a single-story building attached to the current Moon River building and will house a small kitchen, full bar and restroom facilities. It will seat more than 200 patrons with Carolina jasmine and Moon River Brewing yellow blossoms growing on a cypress pergola atop most of the seating area, providing cooling shade on hot summer days.
Below patrons' feet will be pavers and concrete inlays, and the garden will be surrounded by a brick and wrought-iron fence designed to blend with the historic district’s architecture.
Herbs, flowers, shrubs and trees will be planted along the north and west sides of the site to enhance the overall “garden” feeling.
