Michael Gadsden, a chaplain with Savannah-Chatham pplice Department since
2004, has joined the Chatham County District Attorney Victim Witness Assistance Program.
Gadsden will be assigned to Superior Court Judge Michael Karpf’s
Major Crime Division Team, where he will serve as a victim advocate, a newly created and funded position within the
Victim‐Witness Assistance Office.
“With the addition of Michael to the Victim‐Witness
Assistance Program, we will be better able to serve the victims of violent crimes within
Chatham County, by offering the direct attention and assistance victims and witnesses of these major crimes deserve,” program director Cheryl Rogers said.
Gadsden has assisted victims and witnesses at crime scenes, been charged
with next of kin notifications, as well as with contacting and consoling victims of violent
crimes.
Michael received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Morris College in Sumter, S.C. and his Masters degree in Counseling from the Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville.
