Savannah-Chatham police are investigating the Wednesday morning shooting of a woman.
The woman, 56, was sleeping about 3 a.m. in her home on the 700 block of East Anderson Street when shots were fired into the front bedroom window, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
One round struck her, Miller said, adding that the injury was not considered serious.
Detectives with the Violent Crimes division are still trying to figure out why the shots were fired and by whom.
