Chris Hendrix to give lecture

Biodynamics Interactive Showcase
5:30-8:30 p.m. April 4. Biodynamics Center in Armstrong’s Ashmore Hall, 11935 Abercorn St. Armstrong Atlantic State University’s Biodynamics and Human Performance Center announces the second annual Biodynamics Interactive Showcase fundraiser, sponsored by Spine & Sport. Guests will be able to participate in fun, hands-on activities throughout the evening. Staff and students of the Biodynamics and Human Performance Center will perform golf swing assessments, balance testing, strength testing and more.
Cancer Survivorship Series: I’m Done with Treatment, Why Am I Still Hurting?
5:30-6:30 p.m. April 4. 2nd floor Conference Room, Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center. Guest speaker Laura Wiggins, nurse practitioner with the Steward Center for Palliative Care, will lead this discussion. This regular lecture series addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social aspects of surviving cancer. April featured artists at Gallery 209
April. Gallery 209, 209 East River St. Gallery 209 will feature the work of artists Kim Miller & Steve Cook for the month of April. Kim’s paintings are a celebration of the beauty of the south. Her mixed media paintings begin as ink drawings, Layers of acrylic paint are then added to develop rich color and texture. She has painted and taught classes for over 30 years. Wood worker Steve Cook specializes in kitchen fabrication , mill work as well as furniture. He displays his wood work in 209. His beautiful pieces are food safe and functional. Debra Zumstein and Asa Chibas at the JEA
April. The Jewish Educational Alliance, 5111 Abercorn St. After years of conforming her photography to 8x10 and 11x14 images, Debra Zumstein moved beyond standard frames. Her experiments led her to piece together multiple overlapping images creating photographs reaching up to 8 feet in length. Photographer Åsa Chibás’s images are captured with Holga cameras, inexpensive, medium-format plastic cameras that have become appreciated for their intriguing “low-tech” aesthetics. There will be an opening reception from 2:30-4:30 p.m. April 7.
