An 18-year-old was killed Tuesday afternoon when he lost control of his SUV and flipped it on Victory Drive.
Savannah Fire & Emergency Services firefighters extricated Forest Crawford, of a Rainbow Drive address, from the Ford Explorer he was driving when he crashed about 4:30 p.m., said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police Spokesman.
Crawford was rushed to Memorial University Medical Center where he died.
Miller said the SUV ran off the eastbound side of Victory just past Atlantic Avenue where it plowed through a fence around a children’s playground at a church and flipped over in the parking lot.
The Savannah-Chatham police Major Accident Investigation Team was continuing to look into the crash that closed Victory between Paulsen and Reynolds streets for about two hours Tuesday evening.
