Click here to view Spotted® photos of the ninth annual Tybee Turtle Trot 5K beach run held on Saturday morning. The race serves as a fundraiser for the Tybee Island Sea Turtle Project, a volunteer based organization that monitors turtle nesting activity.
After the race, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center released loggerheads, Chatham and Silas, into the ocean from Tybee. Silas is named in honor of four-year-old Silas Edenfield, who has terminal liver cancer and a passion for sea turtles.
