U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Savannah) made it official Thursday morning, declaring his formal candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Saxby Chambliss and saying the new battleground for American values has moved to the Senate.
Speaking to about 100 supporters, family members and assembled local politicians, Kingston asserted his conservative credentials as he became the third Republican member of the Georgia congressional delegration to enter the race. The other two are U.S. Reps. Paul Broun and Phil Gingrey.
