About 7:55 a.m. today, Ladon Tyson, a male inmate, collapsed on the recreation yard while playing basketball at the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, according to Corp. Rhonda Bryant-Elleby of the sheriff's office.
He immediately received medical attention andwas transported to Memorial University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding the cause of death remain under investigation by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs Unit and Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
