POW! Entertainment, the media and entertainment company founded by comic legend Stan Lee, has scheduled a concert at Grayson Stadium to pay tribute to members of the military and their families.
Part of the POW!er Concert series, the show on June 8 will feature American rock band O.A.R.
Tickets are available to the general public, with discounted rates for military personnel and students. Tickets can be purchased at http://buyblitztickets.com/i3wpC.
"We have been working to put this show on in Savannah since our visit to Hunter Army Airfield and attending the Savannah Film Festival in (October) 2012,” said Mike Dodd, managing partner for MKC Entertainment.
The series officially kicked off in April 2013 with country band Gloriana at Camp Pendleton.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to work with Stan Lee’s Power Concerts to bring O.A.R. to Historic Grayson Stadium,” Sand Gnats team president John Katz said in a news release. “With such a dynamic population of military personnel and families at the five installations in our region, this is a great opportunity to both entertain and to help support our troops stationed here in the Coastal Empire.”
According to the band’s website, O.A.R. has sold close to 2 million albums and more than 2 million concert tickets, including three sold-out shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
In 2011, the band released its most recent studio album, "King," which debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart. King was the follow-up to the band’s 2008 release, "All Sides," which contains the platinum hit radio single “Shattered.”
