Army Sgt. Emmanuel Perez today was sent to Superior Court on a murder charge in the April 23 slaying of a Savannah businessman gunned down outside his tire shop.
Chatham County Recorder’s Court Judge Harris Odell Jr. found probable cause to send the charge to a grand jury for indictment in the slaying of Armando Montes, 30.
The victim was shot once in the head and 11 times in the back during an altercation at Brothers Tires. 2 Hampstead St. at White Bluff Road.
Veteran Savannah-Chatham police detective Jonathan Puhala testified the fatal shooting apparently followed a quarrel between Perez and his wife over her “relationship” with Montese.
