The West Broad Street YMCA will hold it annual Transition Ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday at 1110 May St. to recognize children graduating levels at the Y’s Early Learning Center.
Abut 70 kids ages six months to Pre-K are expected to be joined by more than 100 family members and demonstrate what they have learned over the past year.
Every class – infants, toddlers, twos, threes and Pre-K, will participate in a series of short skids, readings, song or finger play as part of the program.
“This is a special year for our Pre-K class,” said Deborah Enoch, program director. “This is the 20th year for the Georgia Lottery Pre- K Program.”
Pre K graduates will begin school in the fall.
Also Friday, the transition ceremony will make the transition from the school-time programming to its summer-enrichment program. The summer program is open to children 6 weeks to age 15 and will run from June 10 and Aug. 9. Children may enroll for one or more weeks and space still available but limited/.
