RICHMOND HILL - An employee at the Army’s Richmond Hill Medical Home began having difficulty breathing after being accidentally exposed to an unknown white powdery substance Wednesday and transported herself to Winn Army Hospital on Fort Stewart according to Richmond Hill Fire Chief Vernon Rushing.
After the woman began to react adversely to the powder the facility was evacuated until members of Savannah Fire and Emergency Services tested the substance and determined it to be non-hazardous.
“They came and tested it for us, we don’t have the equipment to do that,” Rushing said.
