The humidity was high Thursday afternoon, but so were the spirits of hundreds of little tikes and older kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Georgia who took part in an end of summer healthy fun day at Daffin Park and Grayson Stadium.

The event was sponsored by WellCare Insurance and the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Clubs of Savannah. Volunteers from Savannah State, WellCare Insurance, Buffalo Soldiers and other organizations came together to help out for the event.
Vincent DelMonte, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Empire said when WellCare Insurance approached them with the idea to organize the event, they wanted to make it a day that was healthy for the kids and a fun way to build up their sense of appreciation for exercise while having a good time.
