A Clyo man has been arrested in the stabbing of man early Sunday on Morgan cemetery Road.
Joseph Harris, 59, has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
Dennis Whitman, 55, also of Clyo, was stabbed in the abdomen and critically injured, Effingham County Sheriff's Office spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.
Ehsanipoor said that initial reports indicate Harris and Whit
man argued throughout the night and into the early morning hours before Whitman was stabbed.
Harris is being held in the Effingham County Jail.
Whitman was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center.
The case remains under investigation.
