MACON, Ga. (AP) — A 33-year-old Milledgeville man has been sentenced to two years in prison for posting a threat on his Facebook page about shooting someone at a school.
Prosecutor Steve Bradley said Steven Martin Michael pleaded guilty to one count of terroristic threats in Baldwin County Superior Court this week.
Bradley told The Macon Telegraph (http://bit.ly/14CSl0b ) that Martin posted a message on his Facebook page last year that he wanted to be famous and he would do that by walking into a school and shooting someone. Officers searched Martin's home but found no evidence that he was planning an attack. But Bradley said authorities still took the posting seriously.
After completing the sentence, Martin must serve three years on probation, submit to a mental health evaluation and stay away from schools.
