Comedy showcase benefit
7 p.m. Aug. 22. The Wormhole. The Savannah College of Art and Design in cooperation with the Savannah Inner City Night Shelter will be holding a one-night only special event comedy showcase at the Wormhole on Thursday Aug. 22. There will be a cover charge of $5 dollars at the door but guest are encourage to give all they can afford as 100 percent of the nights proceeds will go directly towards the Inner City Night Shelter. Donations of canned goods, soap, cleaning products and toiletries will also be accepted at the door. The event is open to the public 21 and up.
Columba House Open House
6-8 p.m. Aug. 22. Columba House, E. 34th St. The Episcopal Diocese of Georgia is pleased to announce the opening of Columba House, a community of sisters and brothers living a compassionate and hopeful expression of God’s love and justice in Savannah. Columba House is an inclusive, welcoming hospitality space dedicated to building and sustaining a community of faith committed to social justice with the city’s young adults and college students. Pup Crawl
6-9 p.m. Aug. 22. The Rail Pub, 405 W. Congress St. The Humane Society for Greater Savannah will be hosting a Pup Crawl on Aug. 22. The crawl starts at 6 p.m. at The Rail Pub. The cost is $10 and includes a souvenir cup good for a free drink at participating pubs. The Beach Institute, 502 East Harris St. The Beach Institute in conjunction with the Hurn Museum, invite you to view a panorama of mixed media artworks expanding one’s concept of “Who Is My Neighbor? Justice in the City.” The theme is that we are custodian for our fellow man whoever he is, no matter how distant or from what walk of life.
