Robbery detectives are asking the public to help identify two men suspected of stealing a watch from a southside Savannah jewelry store earlier this month.

Two males entered F.P. Wortley Jewelers on the 8100 block of Abercorn Street about 1:15 p.m. Aug. 13 and asked to look at a watch, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.

Then, Miller said, one of the two grabbed the watch and the two ran from the store, leaving in a silver Chevrolet Malibu with a South Carolina tag.

Both suspects are tall, thin black males in their late teens or early 20s, Miller said. The one who stole the watch was wearing a red shirt, green shorts and an orange cap, Miller said. The other was wearing a white button-up short sleeve shirt, black pants and a University of Alabama cap.

The watch is a gold and stainless Rolex with diamonds on the face instead of numerals.

Anyone with information on the case, the identity of either suspect or the location of the watch is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.

Investigators can be reached confidentially at 912-525-3124.
