The Savannah City Council will meet for a called work session at 3 p.m. on Friday to discuss legal matters.
The meeting in City Hall’s media room on the second floor will likely be closed to the public during the entire session as they discuss whether to appeal a Chatham County State Court jury’s decision to award $12 million to a woman who had sued the city after suffering devastating injuries when a tree limb fell on her, said Bret Bell, city spokesperson.
The Chatham County State Court jury found in favor of Shanta Greene on August 21 after day-long deliberations in the nine-day trial.
Bell said he was not sure if a vote will be taken following the closed door meeting.
