A haunted car wash on Halloween and a motorcycle ride on Nov. 10 will benefit Rincon Police Cpl. Dennis Badger, who is battling cancer.
Rincon Police Chief Phillip Scholl said half the proceeds of the car wash and all the proceeds from the motorcycle ride will benefit Badger and his family. The military veteran has been with the city’s police department for about seven years, Scholl said.
The car wash will be from 7 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday at the Rincon Car Wash at 102 Lisa St., behind the BB&T in the Walmart parking lot.
Tickets to the car wash are $10.
The motorcycle ride will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Lowe’s parking lot. Riders will be asked for a donation of $20, with all the money going to the Badger family for medical bills and other expenses, Scholl said.
The riders will make a big circle, riding south on Ga. 21 to Ga. 30, then to Ga. 17, Ga. 119 and back to Ga. 21 and Lowes.
Lunch will be provided, as well as a police escort.
