Alee Haunted House

“Paint the Country Pink”
October. Dressbarn. In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dressbarn announces a new campaign designed to create awareness through community involvement, inviting everyone to help “Paint the Country Pink.” The www.PaintTheCountryPink.com website will feature a map of the country where visitors can show their support for everyone affected by breast cancer by virtually swiping a pink paintbrush over their location. One Day for Mammograms
Oct. 29. One Day For Mammograms will be conducted on Oct. 29, 2012, at Telfair Pavilion at Candler Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mobile Mammography at the St. Joseph’s/Candler Medical Group in Pooler, Telfair Breast Imaging Center on Eisenhower and St. Joseph’s/Candler Imaging Center-Bluffton at 10A Oak Forest Road in Belfair Towne Village. To schedule your appointment call 912-819-PINK. Registration is required. Most insurance is accepted.
Special accommodations have been made for those who may not have insurance and are unable to pay. All women receiving mammograms at the Paint The Town Pink locations on Oct. 29 will receive a FREE t-shirt. Paint the Town Pink is a community health initiative designed to increase awareness for breast cancer screening, early intervention and treatment, sponsored by the Savannah Morning News and St. Joseph’s/Candler.
National Opera Week
5:30 p.m. Oct. 29. Telfair Academy Rotunda, Telfair Museums. Acclaimed by the press as one of the greatest operatic voices of our time, Grammy Award®-winning American baritone Sherrill Milnes’ international career spans over four decades. Now the opera legend passes on his vast musical knowledge and nurturing educational tools to local voice students at the Telfair Academy Rotunda. Chosen by the Voice Co-op, an organization of area voice teachers, six students will participate in a free Master Class where they will showcase their talents and gain insight from the seasoned opera singer. This event is free and open to the public.
Deadline for 2013 Rebuilding Together Savannah
Homeowners who live in their homes and cannot afford to make repairs may be eligible for assistance from Rebuilding Together Savannah and may apply for work to be done in the spring of 2013.
