Candlelight Vigil for homicide victims
6 p.m. Nov. 15. Greater Gaines Chapel, 1006 May St. The Office of the Eastern Judicial Circuit/Chatham County District Attorney announced that The Friends and Family of Homicide Victims Group will be holding their 22nd Annual Candlelight Vigil Nov. 15. This year’s performance artist is Shvokeia Watson, of Senior Praise and Sign Ministry.
Words + Deeds: What Does Sustainability Mean…to Your Neighbor?
7 p.m. Nov. 15. First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave. The Coastal Group Sierra Club is hosting a free lecture by SCAD Design Professor Scott Boylston. His talk will focus on the triple bottom line of sustainability: people, planet, and profit. There is a pervasive sense that sustainability is more about compromise, and less about opportunity. Sustainability all too often focuses on sacrifice and not on the meaningful and easily accessible ways in which it can be implemented. The event is free.

“Weight of The Nation” screening
5:30 p.m. Nov. 15. Southwest Chatham Library. The final screening of the HBO Documentary “The Weight of The Nation” will be held at Southwest Chatham Library on Thursday, Nov.15 at 5:30 p.m. The final film - Part 4 Challenges looks at how communities and individuals can come together with ideas and actions to help improve and restore the health of our Children.
The Savannah Gallery hosts reception
The Savannah Gallery will celebrate four new artists with a champagne reception from 6-8 p.m. The public is invited to meet and view the artwork of R. L. Brethauer, K. A. Collins, Frank and Kathy McInvale and Robin Sterns.
Live music will be provided by a jazz ensemble of Mitch Hennes, bass, Bill Smith, guitar, and Alen Morris, flute and sax.
Guests will also have a first peek and opportunity to purchase new, limited edition holiday ornaments, handmade holiday cards, memorable gifts and stocking stuffers created by the entire roster of The Savannah Gallery artists.
The Savannah Gallery is located in Studio 2, Upstairs at City Market. Enter near Belford’s and follow the luminaria to the reception.

Analysis of the past - Projection for the future

Savannah Council on World Affairs presents U.S. Policy in the Middle East

Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St. The Savannah Council on World Affairs hosts Michael Wahid Hanna, a fellow at The Century Foundation, in a discussion that challenges one to rethink U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East and rewrite the narrative. “Johnny Mercer and Me!”

Muse Theater. “Johnny Mercer and Me!” is a completely revamped story based on the life of popular American songwriter and singer John Herndon “Johnny” Mercer. Written by Miriam K.
