Annual Day of Great Thanksgiving
11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 17. Old Savannah City Mission, 2414 Bull St. The Old Savannah City Mission announces its annual day of Great thanksgiving Nov. 17. The day celebrates family and friends coming from far and near to be together, sharing a delicious meal and giving thanks to God for his goodness all year. For more information, call 912-441-8820.

Book Signing
2 p.m. Nov.17. E Shaver’s Booksellers, 326 Bull St. Trisha Sugarek will be at E Shaver’s Booksellers Nov. 17 for a book signing. She is the author of “ShortN’Small” a series of short plays/small casts, newly released, “Monologues 4 Women”, “Women Outside the Walls” a novel and “Stanley the Stalwart Dragon”.

Salt Marsh Art Show and Author Event
7 p.m. Nov. 17. The Book Lady Bookstore. Charles Seabrook author of “The World of the Salt Marsh: Appreciating and Protecting the Tidal Marshes of the Southeastern Atlantic Coast” will talk and sign books at the opening of our Salt Marsh Art Benefit featuring art from over 20 local artists. “Bring it Home” event
9 a.m. Nov. 17. Forsyth Farmers’ Market. On Saturday Nov.17, the Forsyth Farmers’ Market is inviting volunteers, friends, families and market shoppers to join in the Fall Field Day to celebrate the goods of the season. The fall 2012 “Bring it Home” event will feature education and entertainment alike for the whole family, including a market scavenger hunt, sack races, and freeze tag. Potentate and Commandress Charity Ball
9 p.m.-2 a.m. Nov. 17. Savannah Civic Center. Omar Temple No. 21 Shriners and Omar Court No. 91 Daughters of Isis proudly announce their Annual Potentate and Commandress Charity Ball. The Ball will highlight the accomplishments of the Temple and Court community service involvement under the leadership of the Illustrious Potentate Edward P. Russell and Illustrious Commandress Dannette B. Johnson. Charitable opportunities for the Ball begin at $250 for a table sponsorship (seating for 10) or an individual may attend for a $25 contribution. St. Jude Give Thanks. Walk.
9 a.m. Daffin Park. On Nov. 17, Savannah will serve as one of 90 host cities for the St. Jude Give Thanks. Walk.™, an exciting family-friendly event that brings teams and individuals together over the holidays to raise money to help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® continue to treat children fighting cancer and other deadly diseases with pioneering research and exceptional care. Coat and blanket drive
Alfred Ely Beach High School is hosting a coat and blanket drive to help support students and families in need. Now through Nov. 17, new and clean, gently used coats and blankets will be accepted. A.E. Beach High School will host two “drop off” locations on-site.
Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., donors can drop off coats and blankets with Kristen Swanson in the Guidance Office or with Monica Daughtry in the Media Center. On Saturday, Nov. 17, A.E.
