The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for a home invasion suspect.
The man is described as black male wearing white jeans, a blue jacket, and white tennis shoes.
A Log Landing Roadhomeowner interrupted a burglary when he came home, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.
The homeowner forced the suspect outside at gunpoint and had the suspect on the ground, Ehsanipoor said.
When deputies began to arrive the suspect fled on foot into the woods.
Ehsanipoor said deputies have a search perimeter of a few acres set up from Ga. 21 to Stillwell Road in the area of Log Landing Road.
Air search support from Savannah-Chatham Metro Police is on the way and search dogs have also been requested.
